Fall has long been my favorite season. I love feeling the crisp air, the color of the fall leaves, and the coziness of cuddling under scarves and blankets. Unfortunately, I live in Alabama where it’s still in the 80s and set to be one of the warmest autumns on record. I have a hard time getting into the fall spirit when it’s still hot as blazes outside. This week, I made this delicious fall-inspired smoothie and it was the perfect balance for this hotter-than-usual season. This smoothie is, of course, still cold and refreshing, but has all the warm, cozy flavors of fall. Hope you enjoy!
1 cup almond milk
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp collagen
1 tbsp vanilla protein powder
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 tbsp almond butter
½ cup pumpkin puree
½ frozen banana
handful of ice
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or more if desired; I used almost an entire tbsp. because I love it so much)
optional: 1 tbsp maple syrup (this additional ingredient is extra delicious as it adds in even more fall flavors and goodness, but I left it out because I’m cutting back on sugar); I also topped mine with a little handful of pumpkin granola!
As always, blend and enjoy!
